Below you will find details about my Relaxation Classes and Retreats.

How often do we create time just for ourselves?  The demands upon us often make it difficult to do just that. Yet being able to take some time out to relax, de-stress, and focus upon what really matters, is just as important as rushing about and ‘doing’.

The classes will give you simple ways to release tension in your body, relax your mind and emotions and to focus upon what really matters. Supporting you into greater balance and helping you to stay there.

As a holistic therapist I know the importance of bringing balance into all aspects of our lives. For myself, I’ve been accessing alternative approaches for many years and feel more energised, calm and able to live a richer life. That’s why I have created a six week evening class covering how to relax our bodies, calm our minds and emotions and to create more choice for ourselves.

With a maximum of 8 people per class, there will be an opportunity to focus on your own issues and receive support, if you wish to share with the class. Although sharing is not obligatory, previous participants have found this helpful, and it also allows classes to be tailored to the needs of those attending.

Each Class includes body/mind/emotion calming and relaxation techniques, guided meditations and a mini process based on the theme for the week.  The classes will be running again this Autumn, dates tbc. £36 for all 6 classes or £7.50 pay as you go.

If you are interested in finding out more or signing-up, do contact me here.

Times and venue

Tuesday evenings: 6-7 or 7.30-8.30pm at Settle Quaker Meeting House (Small Meeting Room, round the building and in by the kitchen).

The benefits of attending a class:

‘The small class worked well and made it very personal.  I have really enjoyed the classes and gained more than I expected.  I feel calm, less anxious, focussed and positive.  I know I can use what I’ve learnt as tools to help me in the future.  Thank you’. Rebecca.

‘Sarah’s classes are invaluable for anyone wanting to learn a range of meditation and relaxation techniques.  The sessions are suitable for anyone – whether they have previous experience or not.  I particularly enjoyed making time for a regular class and receiving the different techniques we tried’.  Jo Rhodes – Homeopath.

Get Real Retreat: 27th April-4th May 2017

Are you ready to make a real change in your life, by tackling some long standing issues and would you enjoy a supportive environment and a holistic approach to do so? This retreat will provide you with the space, facilitation and holistic practices such as Journey work and meditation to help you reflect, take stock, get some clarity and move forward. By the end of the week you will have a clearer idea of who you are and the next steps you are ready to take in your life journey.

Purpose of the retreat: we all have behaviours & strategies for coping with life – some that we are aware of & some that play out unconsciously. This retreat is an invitation for you to become more consciously aware of how & why you behave as you do. It will give you the space to work on the ‘stuff’ that blocks you from better health, constructive relationships, freedom from grief & loss, feeling more relaxed and at peace with yourself & life.  You will be held in an accepting, safe, nurturing, understanding and gently challenging (where needed!) embrace by retreat facilitators Sarah and Clare.

During the Retreat you will be supported by meditation, relaxation techniques, Journey process work, music, quiet time & being part of a like-minded community.

After the Retreat we will ask you to feedback how you have taken forward your learning, as a way of embedding the new behaviours you have agreed to adopt in your life. You will be invited to continue to share and receive support through a closed Facebook Group.

Further details: each day will begin with a guided meditation which will focus on a theme. Other activities through the week will include moving to music, reflective time in silence to be with yourself and to journal, opportunities for artwork and photography, discussion sessions, poetry and other readings, chanting and a process with Clare or Sarah.

The afternoons will be free time in which to connect with nature and the Cornish coast. In the evenings you will have the opportunity to share your day and what’s arisen for you, learning how to stay conscious and mindful about what’s present.

Living as a community, we will also share the preparation of our vegetarian meals.
